Rockingham Guards.
The New Hampshire militia unit which eventually became known as the Rockingham Guards was first formed in Portsmouth, N.H. in 1793 and was organized in 1794 as the First Light Infantry Company. It was renamed to Rockingham Guards in 1823. The Guards disbanded ca. 1849.
