Arthur Blanton was a United States (U.S.) Army officer. He rose through the ranks from private in 1925 to lieutenant colonel in 1951. He served throughout World War II as a company (Co.) grade officer, in Korea with the 10th U.S. Infantry, and as a senior member of the negotiating team during the signing of the peace treaty at Panmunjom, Korea. He retired in 1957 and served as mayor of Jackson Township, New Jersey (1960-1964).
