Clerin Rodney Smith (b. June 25, 1902-d. Nov. 28, 1999, Annandale, Va.), U.S. Military Academy graduate, 1926. He retired as a U.S. Army Major General after a career with the Army Corps of Engineers. After his Army service, he worked for the International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation in Paris and Chicago. He later served as president of Free Europe, Inc., the parent company of Radio Free Europe.
