Nuffield Radio Astronomy Laboratories, Jodrell Bank
Variant namesThe Experimental Station at Jodrell Bank, Cheshire, was established by the University of Manchester in 1945; it later became the Nuffield Radio Astronomy Laboratories. The world's first giant, steerable radio telescope, proposed in this document of 1951, was completed and brought into operation in 1957.
