Charles Hollister was a geologist interested in sediment circulation and transport. He directed the HEBBLE experiment, initiated the sub-seabed concept and testified before congress about the disposal of nuclear waste. He spent the later part of his career in administration and fund raising for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI).
