Uruguayan poet, born in de Melo (Departamento de Cerro Largo). Her first book, LAS LENGUAS DE DIAMANTE, was published in Buenos Aires in 1919. Highly regarded by both Latin American and European critics, she became one of the most prestigious figures of Uruguayan literature.
