The 29th Indiana Infantry Regiment was organized in LaPorte, Indiana in 1861. It left the state in October of that year and moved south and saw action in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. The regiment was mustered out 2 December 1865. The purpose of reunion associations is to promote reunions, renew friendships, and perpetuate the memory and history of United States military units. The 29th Indiana was one that would get together once a year at different locations around Indiana.
