Vincent, Jesse G., 1880-1962.
Born on Feb. 10, 1880 in Charleston, Ark. While vice president of engineering at Packard Motor Car Co., 1915-1949, Vincent developed the TwinSix, a 12-cylinder engine. During World War I he co-designed the Liberty engine and during World War II designed the PT boat engine and contributed to the design of the Rolls Royce fighter plane engine. With Gar Wood he designed racing engines for hydroplanes that won numerous Gold Cup records. He died on April 20, 1962.
