Cushman, Helen Baker
Helen Baker Cushman, the daughter of Westinghouse vice president Ivan F. Baker, ran a business history consulting service in Westfield, N.J., under the style of H.M. Baker Associates. The firm specialized in business anniversaries. Its typical publication was based on the time line and blended facts from the client firm's history with general events in politics and popular culture, giving particular emphasis to the firm's founding year and its participation in world's fairs and expositions. H.M. Baker Associates also collaborated on a few book length company histories and acted as consultant in the setting up of in-house corporate archives. In the course of conducting her business, Mrs. Cushman collected a wide variety of business publications, trade cards, ephemera and other memorabilia.
