Horace Henry White was a native of Opelousas, La. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1887, and moved to Alexandria. White served in the state constitutional conventions of 1898 and 1921. He was active in state educational issues, and was awarded several honorary degrees. Horace White was also an attorney, and authored several books on practicing law.
