Cater, Douglass, 1923-1995
Variant namesSilas Douglass Cater (1923-1995) was a Washington editor for Reporter magazine from 1950 to 1963, and national affairs editor from 1963 to 1964. He was Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Army in 1951, and Special Assistant to President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1964 to 1968. Cater also served as a professor at several universities in the 1960s and 1970s.
