Born 1904, died 1992. Assistant to the vice chairman of Commonwealth Edison Co., newspaper publisher. John F. O'Keefe served as the private secretary of Samuel Insull between the years of 1925 and 1932, and as the executive secretary of Insull Utility Investments, Inc., until its collapse in 1932. In addition to his work with Insull, O'Keefe became involved in publishing, serving as publisher for the Chicago Daily News and as the executive director of the Chicago Newspaper Publishers Association from 1946 to 1972.
