Stafford, Fred H. (Fred Hugh), 1896-1978
Variant namesFred Hugh Stafford was the first Arkansas State Senator to be elected from Marked Tree. He was a resident of Marked Tree from 1933, he was a member of the Arkansas Senate for 18 years, and served as President Pro Tem in 1965 and 1966. Stafford was also a member of the Rotary Club, the First United Methodist Church, and the Marked Tree School Board.
