Hide Profile

Established in 1977 as the successor body of the U.S.A. National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation (USANC), LWM was a joint agency of the Lutheran Church in America, The American Lutheran Church, and the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches. The LWM Office on Studies was involved in planning and arranging U.S. study tours and lecture circuits for Lutheran scholars, church officials, and dignitaries from other countries. These arrangements were conducted largely at the request of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). In 1987, LWM was terminated with the establishment of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
