Variant namesThe firm of James F. Wood & Co., roofers and metal-work jobbers, was formed in Wilmnington, De. in 1880 as the successor to Wilson, Wood & Co. It remained active until 1940.
Wilson, Wood, & Co. was founded around 1870. It began to make patented pipe covering about 1872. When it became James F. Wood & Co. the scope of the business broadened to include metal roofing, sheet iron, brass, and cooper. It was a member of the Merchant's Co-operative Association of Delaware.
