Cochrane, Gavin.
British captain in the 1st battalion of the Royal American Regiment, 1756-1773, serving in North America during the French and Indian War.
In 1763, the regiment was engaged in holding the widely scattered outposts in the Great Lakes region. Many of these posts fell during the general uprising of the Indians under Pontiac.
