Washington Memoranda and Washington News Notes are bulletins written by the Division of Public Relations' Washington Office Secretary Robert E. Van Deusen for NLC members and staff, church officials, and editors. Washington Memoranda bulletins outline Congressional activities of interest and concern to the Lutheran church and to the NLC. Van Deusen describes the status of particular bills and acts before the Senate and House, government trends, and new developments in legislation. Washington News Notes are weekly bulletins written by Van Deusen and Charles De Vries which outline religious related legislation and activities in Congress. Lutheran and other denominational concerns and actions regarding legislation are addressed.
