Thomas J. Carlisle was a founder of the Pike Co. Farmers Alliance and later helped organize the Alabama State Agricultural Society. He also was a principal of several high schools in Pike and Barbour Counties in the 1880s and was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives in 1884-1885. He resided in Brundidge, Pike County, Ala.
