The Fiftieth Anniversary Committee was formed in 1951 to plan and organize activities to celebrate Ford Motor Company's fiftieth anniversary in 1953. In 1951, Ford Motor Company created the Ford Archives to preserve the history of Henry Ford and Ford Motor Company. The Fiftieth Anniversary Committee created a variety of souvenirs including medallions featuring Henry Ford I, Edsel Ford, and Henry Ford II; an illustrated book called "Ford at Fifty;" Norman Rockwell calendars portraying Henry Ford's accomplishments, an hour-long television show on America of the past fifty years, and a variety of other anniversary activities.
