Methodist Episcopal Church. Concord Circuit.
Circuit organized in 1854 that had previously been part of the Beardstown Circuit, with Rev. James B. Houts appointed preacher in charge and Dr. Peter Cartwright the first presiding elder. The first meeting was held at Ebenezer and the other included towns were Hazel-Green, Bethel, Meredosia and Concord.
