Dr. Schively (1867-1956), a patron of the Santa Fe Indian School, collected paintings by young Indian artists.

Mary Alice Schively was born in 1867 and received her M.D. from the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1895. She set up private practice in Philadelphia, where she became a member of the Philadelphia Neurological Society, the Philadelphia Psychiatric Society, and the American Medical Association. Schively retired in the late 1920s and moved to Santa Fe, Mexico. She returned to Philadelphia in the late thirties, but by the end of World War II was living in Santa Fe again. The last listing for Schively in the American Medical Directory is in 1961, with an unknown address. Her death was apparently not reported in JAMA.
