Bercovitz, Nathaniel, 1889-1979
Nathaniel Bercovitz (1889-1979); Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. medical missionary to China; director of American Presbyterian Hospital at Hoihow, 1926-1953, except during World War II, when he was imprisoned and expatriated by the Japanese; during 1950-1952, he was placed under house arrest by the Chinese Communists.
