Eduard Buk Ulreich was born in 1889 in Guns, Austria/Hungary. He was a painter, sculptor, muralist, and magazine illustrator. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Pennsylvania Academy. In the 1920s, he lived in New York City and worked as a general illustrator for books and magazines. His wife, Nura, was an author and illustrator of children's books and an art instructor. He died in 1966 in San Francisco.
