Martin, Etta Adele.

Hide Profile

The Martin family resided in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Houston, Texas. Their roots in Texas have been traced back to Jose de la Baume. Born in France, Baume served in both the French and Spanish armies before settling in San Antonio, Texas, and befriending Baron de Bastrop in the early 19th century. Baume married Luisa Cuturie, and their daughter Victorina married Dr. Alejandro Vidal, with whom she had two children, Alejandro and Louisa. Louisa married Alphonse Portanery, bearing him three daughters: Eugenia, Felice J. (1858-1936), and Adele. Felice married Walter Charles Freeman (1846-1934), with whom she had Etta Adele (1883-1988), John, Walter, and Will. Etta married and had several children with Thomas Benjamin Martin (d. 1939), including Janette Jan Bareiss, Etta, and Margaret.
