Wagley, Earle Hubert.
Simeon A. "Alex" Box was born in Quitman, Mississippi, in 1920 and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1942, where he played both baseball and football. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the Distinguished Service Cross for his service with an Engineer Regiment in Algeria. He was killed in action shortly thereafter in February of 1943.
