Pettit, Abram M.

Pettit, from Hudson (Lenawee County, Mich.), enlisted in Company B, 2nd Michigan Infantry as a Sergeant on May 10, 1861 at the age of 26. He was mustered May 25, 1861. On Oct. 15, 1862, he was discharged as disabled. Barden, from Hudson, entered service in the same unit as a 2nd Lt. on May 10, 1861 at age 27. He was commissioned April 25, 1861 and mustered May 25, 1861. He was commissioned a 1st Lt. Sept 22, 1861, but resigned in 1862 to be commissioned a Captain on Feb. 24, 1863. He was again mustered Feb. 14, 1864. On Dec. 14, 1863, he was wounded in action at Granger's Mill. He was wounded again on May 6, 1864. He was honorably discharged on June 6, 1864.
