Ray J. Quinlivan was an attorney, and a member of the Minnesota State Legislature (House) from 1925 to 1935. In 1936, he was elected city attorney for St. Cloud MN. He became a member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents in 1935, and was chairman of the board from 1950 until his death. Quinlivan was also a president of the American Association of Governing Boards of State Universities, and a president of the seventh Judicial District Bar Assn.
