Nebraska native Charles William Stuber earned a B.S. in 1952 and an M.S. in 1961 at the University of Nebraska. He received his Ph.D. in Genetics and Experimental Statistics from North Carolina State University in 1965 and was a member of the genetics faculty at North Carolina State University from 1965 to 1998. Stuber conducted research in the use of molecular markers that aid in the identification and mapping of corn genes.
