Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (Nashua, Mont.)

Hide Profile

Our Redeemer had its early beginnings in 1913 when a group of women with Lutheran backgrounds organized a Ladies’ Aid followed by worship services. The congregation was organized formally in 1917 and the church was built on the corner of Sargent and Main Street. It was the first Lutheran church to be built in Valley county.

Until 1949, the congregation was served by pastors from nearby Glasgow. In 1949 the parish had its own pastor who lived in the parsonage which was built in Nashua. Other congregations in the newly set-up parish included Frazier, Fort Peck and Grain. In 1960 Grain joined the Larslan parish, leaving three churches for the Nashua pastor to serve. In January, 1980, Margo and Paul Fohs became the pastors of the parish. Pastor Margo was the first woman to serve in the Rocky Mountain District.
