The 27th Infantry Division was a unit of the United States Army National Guard that served during World War I and World War II. The Division traces its history from the 6th Division, N.Y. National Guard, formed in May 1917. The 6th Division, N.Y. National Guard designation was changed to the 27th Division in July 1917.
