William Henry Sullivan enlisted in the 3rd Ala. Infantry Regiment on 1861 Apr. 24 at Mobile, Ala. The regiment was immediately dispatched to Va. where it fought in the battles of Seven Pines, Malvern Hill, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Spottsylvania, and others. Sullivan died at Charlottesville, Va., on 1862 July 8, from wounds that he had received at the Battle of Seven Pines.
