Eugene Ware Ridings (b. Jan. 9, 1899, Grant County, Okla.-d. Nov. 27, 1969), U.S. Army officer, was commissioned in the infantry from West Point in 1923. His early assignments included with the 15th Infantry in China and as an instructor at the U.S. Military Academy. During World War II, he served as assistant chief of staff for operations at VIII, then XIV Corps, and as assistant division commander, Americal Division. In the 1950s, he was assistant division commander, 9th Division and 31st Division; commanding general, 3rd Division in Korea; chief of the Military Assistance Advisory Group to Korea; deputy chief of staff of Army Field Forces; and deputy inspector general, U.S. Army. General Ridings retired in 1958.
