Anne Wheeler Young was a Philadelphia resident with an interest in the sensational news events of the first half of the 20th century.
Young was born on December 22, 1902, and raised in Massachusetts. During the 1930s and 1940s, she resided in the suburbs of Philadelphia and maintained an avid interest in current events. Anne Wheeler Young's son, William Young, was a graduate of Eddystone High School and attended the Philadelphia Conservancy to pursue a musical career. After obtaining his degree from the Conservancy, he served in the U.S. Navy and obtained a B.S. in Education from Temple University in 1958. Mr. Young taught vocal and instrumental music at several schools in Wilmington, Delaware: Howard High School, Wilmington High School, Delcastle Tech High School, The Tatnall School, and Tower Hill School. Mr. Young also obtained a MEd in music from West Chester University and was passionately active in the Wilmington music community.
