Lazarus, Julius, 1918-2008
Austrian-educated photographer Julius Lazarus emigrated to the United States in 1939. He was active in progressive politics and unionism, traveling extensively as a free-lance photographer.

Born Sept. 16, 1918 in Czechoslovakia, Mr. Lazarus lived with his parents in New York City in 1948 and took these photographs for use in campaign literature and labor newspapers.
