Sharon Adams, Atlanta resident and businesswoman, was born in Tampa, Florida in 1941. Adams received her Bachelor of Science from Huntington College in Montgomery, Alabama in 1967 and her Master's Degree from Emory University's Candler School of Theology in 1969. As an independent consultant, Adams has assisted with the election campaigns of several Atlanta and Georgia politicians, including Georgia Governor Zell Miller, Atlanta mayors Maynard Jackson and Shirley Franklin. She also worked on Betty Talmadge's campaign for U.S. Congress in 1978. Adams has also been active in the women's movement, serving as the President of the Atlanta National Organization of Women (NOW) Chapter in the late 1970s. Throughout her career, Adams has served on numerous city committees and commissions, including the Olympic Advisory Committee and the Georgia Commission of the Status of Women. She is currently president of her own consulting firm, The Adams Group.
