Galen L. Geer served in Vietnam (1967, 68, 69) as a United States Marine, becoming a military journalist after returning to the US. After leaving the Marines he attended college in the San Francisco bay area before joining the US Army where he served as an infantryman and 1977 and 78 as a military journalist in Korea with the Second Infantry Division and he was awarded a Korean Service Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. After returning the U.S. and competing his army enlistment he returned to the Marines, serving in the Marine Corps Reserves. He received his BA from Colorado State University--Pueblo and his MA from the University of North Dakota. He has worked in editorial positions for Soldier of Fortune, African Hunter, African Expeditions Magazine, The Pines Review and his published credits include hundreds of nonfiction and fiction work.
