Charles Paul Boner (1900-1979) was a member of the University of Texas Physics Department (1920-1970), founded the Defense Research Laboratories (now the Applied Research Laboratories), served in several UT and UT System administrative positions, and operated, with his sons, an acoustical consulting firm.. Boner's consulting work was based on his research on feedback in sound systems and contributed to the acoustical design of numerous public buildings.
