Neil West Kimball, a public relations officer for the military, and war corresponent for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Served as Colorado state Adjutant General 1934-37. Kimball's grandfather, George West, newspaperman, arrived in Colorado in 1859 as a member of the Boston Company. He established the Colorado Transcript in Golden in 1866. He served two years as Colorado Adjutant General (1887-1889), and was active in organizing the Grand Army of the Republic in Colorado.
