Baxter, C. Vanessa, 1954-2007

Vanessa Baxter was born in Cabarrus County, N.C. but was raised in the Cherry Neighborhood of Charlotte, N.C. She attended a Lutheran kindergarten on McDowell Street, and then went through the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system: Morgan Elementary, Sedgefield Junior High, and Harding High Schools. She graduated from Howard University and earned a master's degree from Mississippi Valley State University. At the time of this interview, Ms Baxter was the Director/Consultant Cherry Community Organization. She died in 2007.
