Nevadan, artist and civic leader.

Mrs. Calhoun was elected to both the Carson City Board of Supervisors, 1977-1978; and City council, 1967-1969. She was appointed by several Nevada governors to arts, historic, and land use boards and councils. She was awarded the "Distinguished Nevadan" award from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1978. She was married to James Calhoun, director of the Nevada State Museum. Mrs. Calhoun died on Oct. 25, 1998.
