Born in LeRoy, N.Y., Mar. 19, 1881; graduated from Williams College, Mass., 1840; came to Detroit and studied law with Bates, talker & Douglass; admitted to the bar; was partner of Emmons & Van Dyke, afterward with Willcox & Gray; appointed master of chancery, 1845; school inspector of the old 5th ward, 1848-49; died in Detroit of consumption, Jan. 14,1870.
