Gillett, John, 1796-1847.
John Gillett (1796-1847), of Cornland, Logan County, Illinois was a farmer and real estate speculator. His son-in-law William P. Whittle (1820-1859) worked as an engineer, first with the Illinois and Michigan Canal, and later with the railroad.
