Emily Tall received her Ph.D. from the Department of Slavic Languages at Brown University. A member of the University at Buffalo faculty for over twenty years, she is Associate Professor Emeritus of Russian. Emily Tall is the translator of Selected Songs of Vladimir Vysotsky (Rudomino, 1992) and the co-author of Let's Talk About Life!: An Integrated Approach to Russian Conversation (John Wiley and Sons, 1996), as well as the author of many articles, book chapters, and translations. She has made many visits to the former Soviet Union, and her longtime research into Eastern Europe's relationship with James Joyce has resulted in a series of publications in James Joyce Quarterly and Slavic Review.
