Wiley Duncan Ganey (b. 1907, Andalusia, Ala.-d. July 6, 1982), Major General in the U.S. Air Force, graduated from West Point in 1930 and transferred to the Air Corps the following year. He began his military career with the 2nd Observation Squadron in the Philippines. During World War II, he assumed command of the 498th Bomb Group in the Mariana Islands and at war's end served as liaison officer at headquarters, Armed Forces in the Pacific, Tokyo. He was assigned to the Strategic Air Command (SAC) in 1949 as deputy chief of staff for operations, 15th Air Force headquarters, and later commanded the 22nd Bomb Wing of SAC, serving in Korea in 1950. He retired from Air Force service in 1960.
