Presbytery originally erected in 1854 as Presbytery of Yazoo, PCUSA; name changed in 1855 to Central Mississippi at request of Presbytery; the Presbytery withdrew to the PCCSA in 1861 and continued in the PCUS in 1865; the Presbytery's boundaries were realigned in 1960; the Presbytery continued in the PC(USA) after 1983.
