Vincent Pasquale Barabba was born September 6, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Elvira (Tucci) Barabba. He received a BBA from Woodbury Business College in 1954; a BS from California State University at Northridge in 1962; and a MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1964. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. Barabba was director of the Bureau of the Census from 1973 through 1976 and 1979 through 1981. He was U.S. representative to the Population Commission, Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Other positions held by Barabba were President of Datamatics, Inc.; chairman of the board, Decision Making Information; manager of market research, Xerox Corporation; director of market intelligence, Eastman Kodak Company from 1981 to 1986; and executive director for market research and planning for General Motors Corporation in 1986.
