Ecumenical Christian women's group. Church Women United of Wilmette (CWUW) was a local unit of the larger state organization Church Women United in Illinois (CWUI) which was itself a state unit of the national organization Church Women United (CWU). CWUW was composed of women from different denominations, who participated in a fellowship that promoted community wide projects congruent with the Christian Church. Membership guidelines stipulated that women of all churches of Wilmette were eligible to join. CWUW worked with the CWUI on various campaigns that included SERRV, the Dwight Correctional Center Chapel, and ethical choices for health care reform.
