Reed, Frank, b. 1912

Frank Reed was born in Washington. He attended the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines (1931-1932) and graduated from the University of Washington (1937). He was vice-president of the Anchorage Power and Light Company (1937-1942), and served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he held various managerial positions including senior vice-president of the Alaska Bank of Commerce and president of Alaska Hotel Properties. He was chairman of the Anchorage City Charter Commission (1958) and the Anchorage Charter Commission (1975). He was elected to the Alaska Hall of Fame (1969), and has received many awards for his community and public service.
