Herman Abrams and his son Leonard were partners in the Philadelphia firm of Panoramic Studios. The firm was commissioned to build a scaled model of what would become the "Better Philadelphia Exhibition" of 1945. The exhibit was on display at the Gimbel Brothers department store. It portrayed Philadelphia as it existed at the time, and then sections of the main model flipped over to display a new Philadelphia.
