Planters of Newberry County, S.C.; John Summer and Mary Houseal Summer were parents of William Summer (1815-1878), Adam Geiselhardt Summer (1818-1866), Nicholas Summer, Henry Summer, and two other children; William Summer was a horticulturist of Newberry County; Adam Geiselhardt Summer, Nicholas Summer, and Henry Summer, were lawyers of Newberry County; A.G. Summer and William Summer, acted as editors of "The Southern Agriculturist."
